About Silent Air Compressor

How we choose and rank products

1. Find what's actually sold. We search Amazon US for each category and keep only products that are listed and in stock, from established brands or with a clear manufacturer spec sheet.
2. Collect specs with sources. Noise, CFM at 90 and 40 PSI, max PSI, tank, horsepower, pump type, duty cycle and weight come from the listing or the manufacturer's own pages. Every figure is recorded with its source; if a spec is missing or sources conflict, we leave it blank rather than guess.
3. Rank noise first. Within each category we rank by noise rating, then CFM at 90 PSI, then buyer feedback, build quality, warranty and value. Where a category has few published noise ratings, airflow and build carry more weight, and we say so.
4. Read buyer feedback. We look at ratings and recurring themes in verified Amazon feedback to spot reliability problems, and summarize them in our own words. We don't republish Amazon ratings or reviews.
5. Our rating. Each review shows a score out of 5. It's our editorial judgement from the factors above, not a measurement and not an Amazon star rating.

About the noise figures

Decibel ratings come from manufacturers and retailers, who measure at different distances and not always to a stated standard. We show the source next to every figure and treat 1–2 dB differences as a tie. Where we add our own hands-on readings in future, they'll be clearly labeled as such. See why dB ratings vary.

What we cover

Currently 34 compressors, 22 accessories and 10 air tools. Prices are shown as bands because Amazon prices change constantly; the date we last checked is on every product.

How we make money

We earn a commission when you buy through our Amazon links. That never changes the order of our rankings. Any paid placement is labeled "Featured partner". Read the full affiliate disclosure.
