Battery compressor or battery inflator?

A battery compressor has a tank and enough airflow to drive a brad or finish nailer. A battery inflator has no tank and is built for tires, bikes and sports gear. Inflators sell in much larger numbers, so many listings blur the two. We label every product on this page.

Runtime

Runtime depends on battery size and how often the compressor cycles. For nailing, larger high-output packs make a real difference. Inflators use short bursts, so standard packs are fine.

If you only need tire inflation in a vehicle, a 12 volt compressor runs indefinitely from the car battery.
